Eve Seltzer started practicing Yoga in 2000 as cross training for competitive fencing. Within three months, she found
herself so profoundly affected by the practice that she totally restructured her life around her daily practice. Three years
later, she received her 500-hour teaching certification from Be Yoga (now Ishta Yoga), and in 2009, she received an additional
500-hour certification from Alison West. In 2011, she was Heart of Yoga certified by Mark Whitwell. Eve embraces the spiritual
and physical healing qualities of yoga, and through her yoga practice, has been drawn to devote herself to healing others:
she holds an associate's degree in Physical Therapy, and is the staff Physical Therapist Assistant in Outpatient Physical
Therapy at Bellevue Hospital, where she applies both Western clinical science and yoga practice to a variety of pathologies,
ranging from joint disease to Multiple Sclerosis. Eve believes that there is a yoga practice for everybody regardless of life
circumstances, and strives to impart the curative properties of breath and asana both to her students and to her patients.
Eve's approach to teaching involves breaking down techniques into their most basic components. In this way, she makes
concepts accessible to new students, and gives a sense of clarity and intelligence to more advanced students. Both her personal
practice and the wisdom of her students and patients have taught Eve the joy of self-discovery within the body, and she imparts
this passion to her students
Prior to teaching yoga, Eve worked at various studios around New York as a recording engineer. She has worked on a number
of prominent recordings, including BBC Radio 2 Award winning album, "Fashionably Late" by Linda Thompson, the Grammy-nominated
recording of "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix," and the Grammy-nominated recording of "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood
Prince. This makes her quite probably the only two-time Grammy-nominated Yoga Teacher in New York City. She also sings in
a jazz combo, Franglais, which fuses American jazz with French Gypsy Rhythm.
