Eve Seltzer started practicing Yoga in 2000 as cross training for competitive fencing. Within three months, she found
herself so profoundly affected by the practice that she totally restructured her life around her daily practice. Three years
later, she received her 500-hour teaching certification from Be Yoga (now Yoga Works). Eve continues to study with her primary
teacher, Alan Finger, along with Senior ISHTA teachers Jean Koerner, Jodie Rufty, and Beverley Murphy, and also studies with
Alison West at Yoga Union. Her teaching draws upon her experience as a student of yoga, Alexander technique, Feldenkrais,
and even upon her training as a musician. Eve's classes explore the body and breath with a sense of joy and playfulness, encouraging
self-discovery.
Eve particularly enjoys breaking down techniques into their most basic components. In this way, she makes concepts accessible
to new students, and gives a sense of clarity and intelligence to more advanced students. Through the practice of yoga, Eve
has learned to enjoy the learning process for its own sake, and she imparts this passion to her students
Prior to teaching yoga, Eve worked at various studios around New York as a recording engineer. She has worked on a number
of prominent recordings, including BBC Radio 2 Award winning album, "Fashionably Late" by Linda Thompson, the Grammy-nominated
recording of "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix," and the Grammy-nominated recording of "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood
Prince. This makes her quite probably the only two-time Grammy-nominated Yoga Teacher in New York City.
